A standard older home worn over the years, was in need of a front yard update. Owners asked if the front entrance could be altered to offset the deep narrow hallway door entrance, halfway down the side of the house. By bringing the front of the house entrance forward with a open courtyard bordered by a corner-angled seat wall, the front entrance became more prominent. House pillars were reconstructed to remove bulk and refaced with stone for a warmer more inviting entrance. The new retaining wall and stone address wall acted as a barrier to the entrance way steps. The modern asymmetrical concrete block walkway guided the front entrance steps towards the new entrance patio. Architectural Palo Verde trees anchored the courtyard perimeter. Plant palette was kept minimal with purple salvias, chartreuse and deep greens, as an accent to offset the new stonework.
