The large lot, barren from a previously buried pond, in need of restoration. Since the owners had growing children and dogs, it was agreed upon to include a native lawn surrounded by other native shrubs. Soft decomposed granite trails led to the pool house, then circling around to other covered pergola seating areas.  Trails were lined with newly planted Redbud trees, large shrubs of Ceanothus and Manzanitas were integrated with existing trees. Colorful salvias, penstemons, fuchsias, yarrows, mixed with tall grasses and juncus surrounded the central native lawn. The end result of a project process about balancing out the natural native environment with the family functions of children and dogs.
